HERA Lighting’s President, Christian Bollrath, races in the 24 h race at the Nürburgring in Germany

An avid race car driver, Hera's President Christian Bollrath competed once again in the 24 h race at the Nürburgring on June 25th and 26th. Out of 202 starters, Christian and his team finished 18th overall. They were the best amateur team at the event. Over 200 cars took to the track at 4pm on Saturday June 25th, from full GT2 cars to near showroom spec road legal racers on road tyres to race for a full 24 Hours.

Christian’s car this time was the Audi R8 LMS of the Audi Race Experience team. The car has a V10 engine with over 500 bhp and is one of the fastest in the field. The car started in the fastest class in the race, competing against factory Porsches, BMWs, Mercedes, Ferraris and other Audis with full professional driver line-ups.

The Nürburgring is a motorsport complex around the village of Nürburg, Germany. It features a modern Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer old North loop track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. Of all the races, the 24 h race is the biggest and hardest.
